The Blue Furniture

Located in easternTehran, Golshan neighborhood is known as an urban area inhabited by low-income people, causing various economic, social and cultural implications.
Enhancing the liveability of the public spaces can not only provide safety and security but also facilitate social interactions. The project Blue Furniture tries to catch the attention of passersby and those living in the neighborhood, to invite them for an experience in a public space.
To this end, the designers of the furniture gathered the residents of the neighborhood by the execution process. This participatory implementation not only added social values to the furniture but also examined the possibility of a collaborative approach to a tiny component of urban development within a controversial neighbourhood.
