ISSUE27: Street Experiments
Two phrases of ‘street experiments’ and ‘street experimentations’ are used in various English sources. There are fundamental differences between the words experiment and experimentation that we will discuss in detail in the Etymology section.
In short, experimentation means creating an experiment with an emphasis on innovation. In this regard, experimentations are tools for generating ideas, and they are not necessarily the final idea. At the same time, the latter is based on the practice of testing. In other words, the experiment is the ultimate goal itself.
Most of the studied sources use the term ‘experiment’ rather than ‘experimentation.’ Also, In this booklet, based on selected case studies and the theoretical framework, I will use the word experiment from now on.
